Red Cedar Steel Erection will work on the steel structure of the 120,000-square-foot multipurpose building that will start construction next month. Construction of the building is scheduled for completion late this year.
The building will include office space for construction firms working on the $10 billion Foxconn campus and research and development facilities for the Taiwan-based company’s display technology and other projects.
In a previous round of bidding for site preparation work, Hoffman Construction Co. of Black River Falls was selected for mass excavation, storm water management and erosion control.
Local companies interested in becoming a vendor, subcontractor, supplier or professional service provider to Foxconn can attend an informational meeting this week in Eau Claire. Registration starts at 1 p.m. and the presentation is scheduled for 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Chippewa Valley Technical College’s Energy Education Center, 4000 Campus Road.
