Yesterday, the Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT) welcomed more than 850 Ironworkers, Contractors and Owners to the sixth annual North American Iron Workers/IMPACT Labor-Management Conference, which will showcase the incredible dedication of Iron Workers to outstanding safety, unmatched quality and stellar productivity.
“We must have an unwavering commitment to safety every minute on every job,” said IMPACT Labor Co-Chair Walter Wise. “Our productivity is recognized as the highest among anyone in the construction industry. We deliver project quality through our skilled workforce and contractor project management.” Wise is the General President of the Iron Workers.
As the Conference opened, IMPACT Management Co-Chair William Brown echoed Wise’s sentiment. “In order to take advantages of those new opportunities, we must be the best…we have to get the message out there that we are the best,” Brown said. “We provide a highly trained, highly skilled workforce. That is our advantage over the competition.”
Contractors laud IMPACT’s commitment to delivering a quality product, good value and excellent customer service. “I think that the growth we’ve seen over the last few years [at the Conference]…is a testament to the labor-management relations that we see,” said Jacob Snyder, a labor relations officer with Enerfab, Inc.
More than 200 Contractors and nearly 20 of North America’s largest Owners are attending the Conference.
