WASHINGTON - The Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT) announced today it has been recognized by ASAE with a 2012 Gold Circle Award for excellence in communications for their 2011 annual report, Ironworkers and Employers Partnering for Success. The Gold Circle Award competition is the premier communications award given each year for associations and non-profit organizations.
“This annual report is a prime example of the commitment of the Iron Workers Union and IMPACT to new technologies and new ways of communicating with our members and partner contractors,” said IMPACT CEO Eric Waterman. “The report showcases our commitment to information-sharing utilizing numerous, simple-to-access formats.”
“Communications is a crucial function for any association – it’s the primary means for sharing information with members and staff,” said ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE. “Winners of the Gold Circle Award competition have set a high bar of excellence for us in the association community by integrating the fundamentals of effective communications with elements of innovation, creativity, design, technology, and metrics to measure the effectiveness of their tactics. Congratulations!”
Entries for the Gold Circle Award competition are judged on established criteria for excellence in association communications. Judges are experienced communication professionals from associations, nonprofits and for-profit organizations.
“There are many examples of great communications from associations and nonprofits,” said Sandra Gordon, chair of the Gold Circle Award Committee and member of the Communication Section Council. “Only a few rise to the standards of excellence to merit a Gold Circle Award.”
On May 24, recipients will be presented with their award during the Gold Circle Award Ceremony at ASAE’s 2012 Marketing, Membership and Communications Conference in Washington, DC.
