Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust

Expanding Job Opportunities for Ironworkers and their Contractors

The off the Job accident program has been a God's send for our injured members and helps them from digging a financial hole. There is a process  of educating the members, following up with the paperwork to the Trust Fund, insuring the member is paid. This extra time is on behalf of the Business Manager but it is worth it.

Sincerely,
Michael L. Baker
President
Iron Workers District Council of North Central States

IMPACT Facilitates Con Edison Tour of Local 40/361 Training Center

03/21/2011

IMPACT Eastern Regional Director, Kevin Byrnes and Ironworkers Local 40/361 Training Director, Bryan Brady, recently invited major East Coast energy utility Con Edison's Department Manager of Construction Administrative Services, Denis Smalley, and Building Trade Relations Manager, Mike Perrino, to tour the Locals' training facility.

Con Edison Tours Local 40/361 Training CenterLocal 361 Business Manager, Dick O'Kane, and Business Agent, Anthony Deblasie, were on hand guiding the tour while apprentices were attending class. The group engaged the apprentices and instructors about the importance of safety and adhering to the Ironworkers "Standards of Excellence" while working on every Con Edison construction site.

On any given day there are over 1,500 Building Trades members working on Con Edison projects. Plans for future visits to the training center from Con Edison safety representatives are in the works to further enhance this important relationship. This is an example of one more way IMPACT works to create awareness of the Ironworkers' world class training and grow market share.
