IMPACT works closely with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and Quality Management Company, an independent third-party auditing company, to assist its contractor members in pursuing certification through the AISC Steel Erector and Fabricator Certification Programs.
IMPACT has partnered with Ted Sheppard, certification consultant with The DuRoss Group, and IMPACT consultant Jim Hobson to provide its contractor members one free day of onsite advisory sessions and an additional 8 hours of follow-up correspondence to help with all aspects of the AISC Steel Erector Certification process.
IMPACT has also partnered with Charles McGowan, certification consultant with McGowan Technical Services, to provide one free day of onsite advisory sessions, 8 hours of follow-up correspondence and a tutorial CD-ROM to member contractors interested in attaining AISC Fabricator Certification.
"The input and help we received regarding the [AISC] procedures worked out very well...I appreciate all that IMPACT has done for us" said John Bacon, operations manager for HB Welding.
To date, IMPACT has assisted more than 38 contractors across the country in achieving AISC certification.
To seek assistance in securing certification, contractors must submit a request form.
