Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust

Expanding Job Opportunities for Ironworkers and their Contractors

The off the Job accident program has been a God's send for our injured members and helps them from digging a financial hole. There is a process  of educating the members, following up with the paperwork to the Trust Fund, insuring the member is paid. This extra time is on behalf of the Business Manager but it is worth it.

Sincerely,
Michael L. Baker
President
Iron Workers District Council of North Central States

IMPACT Publishes Specialized Training Modules for OSHA Subpart R - Steel Erection Standard

08/29/2009

IMPACT has published three specialized training modules covering Fall Hazards for Connectors, Controlled Decking Zones, and Multiple Lift Rigging Procedures. These modules serve as guides to help emphasize the importance of complying with special training requirements set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Subpart R - Steel Erection Standard.

The modules provide illustrations of common hazards, safe practices, and sample proficiency tests to assist in the development of safety programs. The guides reference the minimum requirements contained in the OSHA Subpart R Standard. In states that operate under a State Approved OSHA Plan may, there may be more stringent requirements pertaining to the steel erection procedures. Project contract requirements may also prohibit or contain more stringent requirements pertaining to this procedure.

The modules are customized for each IMPACT region and one complimentary set is available to signatory local unions, signatory contractor associations, and signatory contractors.
